Credible—The Six Leadership Conversations is a resource, guide and toolkit featuring six essential conversations to help you strengthen your influence and make a difference when you communicate. The book is built upon a foundation of skills and human interactions that have been tested and proven in a variety of environments with my clients, associates and friends over the years.The way you influence others and the results you get are indicators of your skills and can make a big difference to your career and workplace environment. Your informal power of influence and your conversational competence contribute to your credibility.Credible is a useful resource for you if you need to influence others to get things done. The tools and resources can be applied to a variety of contexts such as formal leadership in an organization, para-military leadership in police and emergency response organizations, volunteering and non-profits and even parent-child communication.Credible is not an exhaustive treatise on leadership communication. Each chapter, or leadership conversation, is short. You can read one leadership conversation at a time, or the whole book in one sitting. As this is intended to be a highly practical resource, there are several entry points for you, depending on your needs at the time. Although short theory bursts are sprinkled throughout, Credible is intended to be intensely practical to help you strengthen your authentic voice. You’ll get useful tools to build your influence and conversational competence. The Six Leadership Conversations are:1. The Tough Conversation—helps you have a structured conversation and document a course of action to resolve misunderstandings, deal with conflict and entrenched behaviours that cause disruption and deplete morale at work 6.
