Industrial Relations is an area of study and practice that is concerned with the administration of the employment function in modern public and private enterprise. It is also about the people and their relationship with other people, behaviours and the environment in which it is practised. The Industrial Relations function involves workers, unions, managers and government. It concerns itself with the employment relationship between enterprise and its employees and among the employees themselves. Of course, the industrial relations function is also about the behaviour and interaction of people at work and also has to do with how individuals, organizations and institutions make decisions which shape employment relationship.
